Information Resources for Keuka College Alumni: Welcome

Welcome

Welcome to Keuka College Alumni Library Resources Guide

Keuka College alumni are welcome to visit the Lightner Library in person to use our print and online resources on campus.  However, because of  licensing agreements, Keuka alumni do not have remote access to subscription databases such as Academic Search Premier and ProQuest.

There are many free online scholarly resources available, and this guide will connect you to many of them including:  books, free databases, online journals, government websites, and statistics websites.

Public Libraries

Your local public library provides access to many databases and online journals and will request materials on Interlibrary Loan for their patrons.

New York Public Library

Any person who lives, works, attends school, or pays property taxes in New York State is eligible fo receive a New York Public Library library card free of charge. Once you receive your card, you will be able to borrow materials, download eNYPL content, and search Library databases.  Check out the New York Public Library library card link for detailed information about applying for a library card.

New York State Community College Libraries

All New York State Community College libraries allow community members to check out materials.  Their online database cannot be accessed from off campus but can be used if the patron is in the library.  NYS libraries will also request materials on Interlibrary Loan for their patrons.

Keuka College Alumni Email

Congratulations, Keuka College Graduate!

As a Keuka College graduate, you have the option of creating an alumni email account. Alumni accounts are an excellent way of staying connected to classmates, campus events, and other College news.

It is VERY important to transfer emails and/or data from Google/Moodle to either an alumni account or a personal email account. Details are listed below.

But time is limited. In 6 months, your current Keuka College email account (on which you received this message) will expire. You will lose all access to the College Portal and its affiliated applications, as well as any data within those applications. This is why it is vital to transfer your data and emails to another account.

Creating Your Alumni Account

To create your alumni account, visit https://kcportal.keuka.edu/sitepages/alumni.aspx and click the green button.

Within 24 hours you will receive an email with your new email and password information, as well as instructions on how to login.

IMPORTANT: Remember to stay active. If you do not utilize your alumni account for six months, it will be deleted.

If you would like to migrate your student emails and Google Drive documents to your new alumni account, follow the instructions below:

Note: Please make sure you have signed into your alumni account at least once before continuing on, as the set-up will need to be done before the transfer portion. After you have set-up your alumni Gmail account, log back out.

Instructions for Migrating:

Log into your Keuka student email account first before going to the Google Takeout link below. It will recognize the Gmail account that is logged in.
Go to:
https://takeout.google.com/transfer
Follow the step-by-step prompts on the transfer page. Depending on how much data you have to move, it could take some time for it complete.
