What is an annotated bibliography?

An annotated bibliography is an organized list of citations where each citation is followed by a brief descriptive summary or annotation.

The purpose of doing an annotated bibliography is to cite, and then briefly summarize, books and articles on your topic or area of study. This will help you broaden your knowledge base of your topic.
